TIE Fighter/Interceptor Mount

This was the start of the project. After deciding the best place to grab the TIE was at the rounded ends on each side of the cockpit where the wings snap on. I used a scrap piece of wood drilled to the proper diameter with a forstner bit then cut in half so each "half round" would support the ship. Being centered on the rounded end worked well for the standard TIE but the front heavy design of the Interceptor caused it to go into a nose dive.

After a few experiments I dicovered all I had to do is widen the brackets out and increase the diameter of the "hooks" and it layed quite nicely with the flat projections on the wing ends resting on the front and back of the hook.

Next I layed out a template for the brackets making sure to have enough room at the top for a luan "landing" that would wrap around the cockpit hatch.

Next the Landing platform.

Make a 8.5"x 3" back board and assemble.
