Echo Base Shelf

Part 3

The Hanger Door is next. The top of the opening is 2x with a rabit edge routed in the back bottom to overlap the 2 luan pieces that will make up the open door. The sides are 1x and will be attached to the luan.

The "Teeth" of the door is layed out and the areas to be cut are X'd out.

After cutting out the X's on the Bandsaw the edges are sanded on the Stationary belt sander.

The three teeth are doubled up with a luan cap to give the door a corrugated look. Then the edges are puttied to mold in the caps.

Final assembly is done after sanding, priming, and painting the componants.

The Wiring Harness is next..

After cutting rough jagged edges on the front and bottom of a 3/4 square piece of stock on the bandsaw. Holes are drilled and a piece of bare strand wire is looped though the bottom to cradel the wired that connect the computers together.

Texture is then added to the backboard. I installed the backboard and scribed off the parts that need to fit flush with the interior componants then taped off the areas to be Textured.

I'm using drywall joint compound spread on with a putty knife.

While still wet the masking tape is removed and primer is applied before painting.
