I started by routing a 1/2" dado groove in to a piece of 2" pvc pipe 8" long then marking the center. I'm making two size Columns 2" and 2.5". Only the 2" will have this detail.
Then lines are drawn down the inside and outside of the pipe.
The pipe is cut in two on the Bandsaw.
The cut edges are trued up on the Jointer and then the pieces are Sanded.
The Light pannels are painted plexiglass. For the lighting detail slots are Routed out of a piece of Plexiglass to make a Stencil.
The pieces are then primered and painted. Then the Lighting detail is painted on the Light Pannels.
The detail on the sides of the 2" Columns are Stenciled on by cutting a series of rectangles into Frisket paper which is a sticky back clear thin plastic made for making Stencils.
