The Blast Door opening was made in quarters. Each quarter is 3.5"x8". After a rough cutting on the Bandsaw each quarter is sanded smooth on the Benchtop Belt Sander.
The opening is traced on to Luan of which the door pieces will be cut. Then a Rabbet edge is cut to accept the door quarters.
The parts is then dry fitted before assembly
The Rabbets are painted before the glue up because once the parts are assembled it would be impossible to get paint into them uniformly.
Next the detail is Routed into the Jamb on the Router Table.
Final Sanding, Primer, and Paint. Then the Doors are hot glued into the rabbets and finished this project is.
UPDATE: Left out from the original set of pics is the groove cut on the Router Table to allow the door to fit over the pipe that conceals the electrical cord.
