 The Making of..

Figures with no leg articulation from a movie scene of seated characters ?

Here's my answer to Hasbros lack of vision..

I cut blanks for the sides and routed an offset into them. Along with a off-set back and painting them the same color as the floor I hope to create an illusion of sleek futuristic seating instead of a boxes.

A back template was designed for both types of chairs since Tarkins chair is just a glorified version of the standard Chair.

After drilling the hole for the back with a Forstner bit the Luan blank is then cut out on the Bandsaw.

The back is glued on then a thin piece of MDF to complete the off-set bottom. Due to the thin componants no mechanical fasteners are used.

Lotsa wood putty is applied and sanding to mold the pieces into one before priming and painting.
