To Make the process easier I start with a Dowl Rod for a blank. After marking off the the individual sections with a divider in the middle the blank is cut to size on the Miter Saw.
Next the ends are centered then enlarged for mounting on the Lathe.
The section lines completed and start to carve.
One thing I had to learn was to stop at various stages to sand.
These Vessels are so thin you have to be very gentle so its best to work on the sanding as you go as to minimalize the chance of breakage.
Next the throat is carved. This is the thinnest point. If it breaks its usually here.
After adding a shallow relief a priming and light sanding follow before the vessels are cut out on the bandsaw.
Holes are drilled in both ends for Plumbing before final Priming and Painting.
