As is with all my projects, I start with the interior componants. Here I layed out the fronts to the Entrance and the Booth. I make them a little long and I'll trim them to fit after the top, bottom and sides are assembled.

Then I cut them out on the band saw and then sand them on the Oscillating spindal sander.

Since I wanted to make it 30" wide and 7" deep, I went ahead and cut the top and bottom boards.

Next I made some tables for the booth, then I figured the depth of the booth, cut and attached a side board.

Then I make the landing at the top of the steps, with corresponding side board.

Now I build the steps, First cut two 1xs slightly wider than the entrance opening. Then cut rabit edge on each of equal depth and height.

Then glue and Brad nail the two pieces together making sure the steps are even. Then cut the back flush on the Table Saw.

Now trim to fit the entrance opening, and screw the steps to the landing.

Next lay out and cut the sides. Now we can see how were doing with a Mock-up.

I route the keyways in the top board, then assemble the carcass.

Then mark the keyways on the inside face, so when you route out the rabit edge that'll hold the luan back you don't route through your keyways.

Next cut a piece of luan to fit recessed in the Rabit edge in the back. Then round the corners and cut out notches for the keyways.

Then Disassemble, add a strip to the front of the bottom of the top board that'll conceal the Accent Light.

Primer and Paint the parts individually. All but the bottom board are painted Satin Almond, with the bottom edges in London Gray.

The bottom board is base coated in Satin Nutmeg. Then wad up a piece of Saran Wrap and spray it with Satin black. Wipe the board indiscriminately. Then after it dries, piant the board Nutmeg again and while it's still wet, wipe over the board with the same piece of Saran Wrap that you painted Black.

Now on Cantina Shelves II and III. I added pieces to the back of the strip that hides the light to angle it and get more light to the back and in the booth.

The Light is mounted with two sided tape that comes with the light. I used only small pieces in case I need to move or remove the light. Then run the cord over the Entrance and down through a hole in the bottom.
NOTE: If you use the whole piece of tape and need to move it, your Toast....LOL !!!!

Next print out copies of the backgrounds in the Cantina Aliens Deluxe figures (available online). Edit with X-Acto Knife to suit and tape it to the back. Then nail the back in place using small brass nails, so you can remove it later fairly easily if the need be.
