Meramec Flood

If you hadn't figured it out yet The New Sandcrawler Workshop is not on the Deserts of Tatooine. As a matter of fact the terrain is more like Endor bordering on Kamino at this time than the Jundland Wastes.
Our biggest claim to fame and national news again for the third time in the 20+ years i've lived next to it is the Meramec River.
The pic to the left is of the river from the side window of the shop towards the Rye Creek. The other pic is to the south of the shop. The river is not quite out of it's banks but the fields across the river are beginning to flood from the Rye Creek.
Here's a coupla shots from the deck of the house. We don't worry about floods up here. St.Louis had better build a very large Arc if the water ever gets up to our basement..LOL !!
Here we are at the crest. The river that is about 100' wide normally is close to a half mile across and water that is about waist deep is 20'-25' deep.
Here's some prospective on the extent of the water. The barn across the river is pretty close to a half mile away. This pic was taken when the water was only up to the "water" on the map. At crest it is as close to it as it is to us on this side. You can still see the land between the river and the "slough" at the base of the hill isn't under yet.
We don't have impressive pics to take up here as they do down river(devastation)because we do not to mess with mother nature or the Mighty Meramec. We just sit back and enjoy are lake front property...as short lived as it is !!
