The Making of
Trash Compactor Display

I started by choosing something from the Scene to emulate to give the Display a common theme.

I decided to use the archway over the Door.

Next, I begin to Box in the Scene. I since the two halves fit kinda loose I want to give it a tight fit.
I cut the front opening on the Bandsaw

Since this is not going to be a Lighted Display, I decided to make the Top with a Plexiglass Sky Light. I rough out and Glue the four Sides. Then Route out a Rabbet Edge on the Router Table, so the Plexiglass Top will fit flush.

Then Attach the Top to the Front with Screws and Decorative Washers.
The Sides are Made of 1/4"Luan and are also Attached with Screws and Decorative Washers.

The Tight fit also allows the Top/Front to seat with out any Mechanical Fasteners.

Next using 1/4 Plywood, I layout the back using the Arch Design Top and Bottom, Sanding the Edges on the Benchtop Belt Sander.

The back is Screwed to the Box, and attaches to the Wall with Screws and Washers, Top and Bottom.
